He was a really strong person and his poem Invictus show us how difficult was his life.
ReplyDeletethis poem is a great poem but it has a sadness mood because when you read it you can see somethig bad was happen to the author. My favorite line is stanza 4 line 3:I am the master of my fate. i like it because i believe after God only you can know what you want for your future.i think each reader has is favorite line because it is a old poem but it still populer, it still stay in our mind. This poem remind me when i was in Haiti during the earthquake my body was bloody too but i did not unbowed i was strong because i wanted to make sure everybody in the family was ok,i was the only boy in the house at this moment i should act like my father, to be a responsible man.

Deletethe poem Invictus is a autobiographical. Because, William Henley wrote the poem to describe life has been for him since he was born. how he lost his dad at an early age and has a child he caught illness and lost not only one but both legs.I think these is why the poem is autobiographical because is about how someone suffering.

DeleteIm agree with you Mariam Ba because we are the owners of our fate. we only we can choose what we want to be. In my opinion Hemley is an example of life because when he were really sick he never stoped to figh with his destinity. He made his fate better, he changed his life he decided to not be a simple sick person. He becomes a writer and now his poem "Invictus" is a timeless and I believe many people after read that poem will get more stronger to maade their fate!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to write about the connection between Nelson Mandela and William Henley. Nelson Mandela spend most of his life in jail, and William Henley spend years in the horror of the shade, by spending most of his time in a single room like prison.
ReplyDeletei agree with you Arlete because Henley pass most of his time at the hospital. And Nelson Madela pass 27 years in jail. Both of them pass they time in a single room.
DeleteI agree with arlete because the connection that Mandela and Henley had was the freedom. Mandela was in jail for a lot of years and Henley had a lot of sickness in his life and he was 3 years locked in a hospital to trated his sefl. I think both of them had not freedom in his life to do what they want to do and they was controled by their ''life''

ReplyDeletebased on the text, cross-cultural couples by terri paris and research by Dugan Romano, are bi-cultural marriage more problematic than mono-cultural marriage first,on lines 8 in the text cross-cultural couples, the author says,"understand and respect for intercultural couples ." i think if tow couples marriage bi-cultural and if they are a baby its not good for in mentality for kids.second, on line 12 in the text cross-cultural couples the author states," deciding what language or culture to raise their children " this means if couple marriage bi-cultural e.g the mum says the children have to speak my language and grows up in my culture so, they are fiting mum and dad finally, bi-cultural marriage is not good for kids.
